I was promoted to quality assurance after several years which is a position that they ultimately dissolved into a generalized scribe ambassador position so they could pay you when you were “actively doing the admin work”. I started at 8.25 with medical scribe systems and had to fight to get 10 dollars an hour when SA bought them (which is what starting pay was for SA).
I worked there for a total of 6 years and was terminated after being furloughed during Covid without notice of termination or attempt to place me elsewhere. ScribeAmerica got me in the door to the medical field, but I had such little respect for myself because of scribe America. I worked with good doctors, mid level providers, and hospital staff and built life long friendships, which is saying something for the hospital. I plan on quitting soon and advise others to go elsewhere for scribing. However, I would not recommend scribing under ScribeAmerica, unless you like to wait 2+ months to start floor training, be relocated at least 30 minutes away from your house, and have poor communication with management.

I got to see cool medical procedures done at my clinic and learned how to chart. But on the good side, scribing itself is a good job if you want to gain healthcare experience. So far, I only did two days of work out of the three months I was hired, which is really unfair. There is also no set schedule because it is up to the doctor. She said it was because it was the doctor's decision. My trainer also told me that I did not have to come in for floor training one day, even though I was scheduled to come in. The closest City MD location is in NYC, which is on the other side of the state. Since I was relocated, I almost had to take a physical exam and get blood work done at City MD, which does not have a location in Buffalo. However, management did not tell me that I had to work at multiple locations, including one location that is 30+ minutes away and one that is an hour away from my home. I was originally scheduled to work in a family medicine outpatient clinic, but then got moved to an ENT clinic closer to where I live. I was hired in May but did not start floor training in July.
